Certificates

Before a product even touches EU soil, it must comply with a wide range of certificates and markings.

Here is a list of of the most common certificates required:

CE marking

The marking that many products must bear in order to be sold in the European Union and its member states, like Germany. It certifies that the product meets applicable EU requirements.

TÜV

A seal that is particularly relevant for technical and electronic devices. It proves that the product or machine has been tested and is safe.

More
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

A standard that ensures that electrical and electronic equipment does not exceed certain limits for hazardous substances such as lead, mercury and cadmium.

More
GS (Tested Safety “Geprüfte Sicherheit”)

A voluntary certificate that confirms the safety of a product. Products with this mark have passed an additional safety test.

More

This applies to products that use radio waves. RED ensures that such devices function safely and without interference within the EU.

In the rapidly evolving world of global trade, smooth logistics, efficient imports and correct certification are essential. But these processes are often associated with complexity and bureaucratic hurdles, which can distract companies from their true mission: to develop first-class products and make them available to people.

Imagine being able to outsource this complex part of your business processes and rely on it to be handled by experts with years of experience in exactly these areas.

Welcome to your partnership with Hanse Import & Trade – your partner for logistics, import and certification. Our goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing that all of these critical aspects of your business run smoothly and securely. All you should have to do is what you do best: developing and perfecting your products.

Europe, and Germany in particular, are known for their robust standards and strict regulations. While launching a product on this market may seem attractive and lucrative, the challenges companies face are overwhelming.

Import and Customs

Importing is much more than just crossing borders. It requires careful planning and coordination, from the moment your product leaves the manufacturing plant until it arrives in the hands of the end user in Europe.

Here is a list of what we cover

Shipping provider

Choosing the right shipping provider is crucial. Whether DHL, FedEx, UPS or a specialized freight provider — every company has its own advantages and specifications. It is important to choose a partner that is not only reliable but also understands the specific requirements of your product and target market. We work with the leading shipping providers and can help you choose the best fit for your products.

Shipping methods

Although air freight shipping is often faster, it is also much more expensive. Sea freight, on the other hand, although usually cheaper, requires more time and may be more susceptible to delays.

Coordination of collection and delivery

Even the slightest misunderstanding or delay can lead to significant complications. It starts with collection from the sender, ensuring that all documents and certifications are correct and accepted by local customs. Delivery to the recipient must then be coordinated, taking into account customs controls, storage and ultimately delivery to the end customer.

We offer you a turnkey solution. Our experts are trained and familiar with the local and international requirements and can ensure that your products make their way to Germany smoothly and without delays. Focus on the quality of your products. We’ll take care of the rest.

Packaging guidelines and labels

But it’s not just the products themselves that are carefully checked. The way they are packaged and marked is also controlled. The product packaging must be provided with the correct information. We help you achieve that.
